This is the big news of the day! I got a letter from this tour company a couple of days ago. I almost threw it out as junk mail. Well, it turns out it was an invite to join them on a free trip to Madrid! It’s going to be whirlwind- leave on a Thursday evening and come home on the Monday. But, really… who cares? It’s free! I’m trying to arrange a visit with a friend who lives a few hours outside Madrid. Obviously, she’d have to come to me. We’ll see. Still lots of details to be sorted out, but I’m really looking forward to the trip. It’s only 2 months away even! One small detail… I need to renew my passport! It expires in May 2010 and I was already planning on sending it off for renewal over the break, but now I’m worried it won’t get back in time and I may pay the $60 (gulp!) expedite fee on top of the regular $75 renewal fee. Yuck. Not really wanting to spend the extra money at Christmas time, but I guess it will be worth it!
